Steve D. Smith
Associates of Applied Science in Vehicle Design MacombCommunity College
Certificates and Licenses in Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics
Benjamin O. Davis Aeronautical School
Certified G&DT and Unigraphics
Mr. Smith has leveraged his early experience in automotive towards his passion in aerospace. Having achieved a respectable work history in mechanical design at Future Products, GM Truck, and Navistar, he parlayed his automotive experience into aerospace. He designed aircraft engine components and support equipment for Rolls Royce, Pratt & Whitney, and General Electric prior to moving into primary aerospace structures. Along the way he has gained critical training in IMAN, G&DT, Enovia, and Sherpa, as well as advanced modeling, surfacing, and detailing.
Mr. Smith has continued to build his aerospace design experience while working at companies such as NASA JPL of Pasadena (Mars Rover), Allied Aerospace of Newport News, and most recently as a senior designer at Boeing Aircraft Company in Everett where he completed his Catia V5 training.
Steve has proven his team skills while integrating several disparate wiring designs from different suppliers while at Boeing. Experienced in all aspects of aerospace design, including 3D parametric modeling, assembly layout, and production and maintenance of EBOM's, Steve has what it takes to deliver when it comes to aerospace mechanical design. He has over 20000 hours in Unigraphics and over 2000 hours using Catia V4 and V5.
He has worked hard to earn a spot on our team. He is a capable soft spoken individual with seriousness towards his profession. We are proud of Steve's achievements and look forward to challenging him on your next project.
